Tai Blechta - Bike Coach

page12_6It was about four years ago that Tai got addicted to this triathlon thing After a record 18 min. 500m swim in his first sprint tri, he found himself hooked and has been racing ever since. Originally from the Big Island, Tai moved to O'ahu to pursue his Bachelors and eventually his Masters degree in mechanical engineering at UH Manoa. While attending UH he co-founded the University of Hawai'i Volcano Triathlon Team and served as club VP for two years. Over the past few years he has developed into a competitive triathlete and even managed to bring that swim time down a bit! His accomplishments include being a 3x Xterra World Championship finisher, Xterra National Championship competitor, Ironman World Championship finisher, ITU World Age Group Championship Team USA representative, as well as making it onto the podium and even winning overall in numerous local races. He has coached both triathlon and running clinics and is a certified CSCS personal trainer.

Tai is currently finishing up his Masters degree, running his own start-up graphic design company
Taigraphx, and working part-time at the Running Room. If you ever have any questions about any thing tri-related or just anything in general just let him know and hell try to help you out the best he can.

Michael “Biz” Bisig – Bike Coach

funbiz

Biz started his biking career as a young lad with only his BMX bike and a dream.  The bustling streets of his home town (Wilmington, OH) were a proving ground of sorts.  Although he learned many things in central Ohio, he knew there had to be more!

In 2005, after years of traveling all over the United States as a professional musician, Biz found himself in the heart of Honolulu.
It was here that he would meet the greatest legend ever to roam this wonderful paradise…Chet the Jet!  (cue trumpet fanfare)

While working with the “Jet,” Biz was called back to Ohio and spent an entire year waiting for his training to continue.
Finally, the time had come to make a valiant return!  A Momentous occasion has led him to where he is now…

…back in Oahu to ride over city streets, long highways, and lush mountains.
If ever there is a fun ride to be had, BIZ will be there!
